Woodford Reserve 2020 Straight Malt Whiskey is a 90.4 Proof (45.2% ABV) release from the Master’s Collection, designed to highlight the influence of malted barley on the distillery's traditional pot-distilled character. Distilled at the Woodford Reserve Distillery, this expression utilizes a mash bill of 51% malted barley, 47% corn, and 2% rye.
Unlike typical malt whiskies, it was matured in new charred American oak barrels within heat-cycled stone warehouses, a technical choice that accelerates wood sugar extraction. The structural framework is defined by its creamy viscosity and cereal-forward nature. The technical profile features a nose of shortbread and nutty malt, a palate dominated by honey and dark chocolate, and a finish of toasted oak and light stone fruit.
