Woodford Reserve Master's Collection 1838 Style White Corn is a 90.4 Proof (45.2% ABV) highly innovative, limited-edition heritage release produced by Woodford Reserve Distillery. Released in 2015 as the tenth installment in the series, this expression pays homage to historical distilling pioneers Oscar Pepper and James Crow by utilizing white corn in the mash bill instead of standard yellow corn.
This alternative grain choice modifies the classic 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley recipe. The distillate was triple-distilled in traditional copper pot stills and aged inside charred new American white oak barrels. Housed within historic stone masonry warehouses, the spirit offers a lighter, softer body featuring structural notes of crisp apple candy, warm clove spice, lemon custard, and a gentle wood smoke finish.
