William Larue Weller 2014 is a historic high proof release from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, holding the record for the highest proof in the series at 140.2. Distilled in the spring of 2002 at DSP-KY-113, this wheated bourbon matured for 12 years and 3 months in new charred American white oak. This vintage is technically distinguished by its extreme maturation climate in the upper tiers of the warehouse, which resulted in a staggering 62.3% evaporation loss.
This aggressive "angel’s share" concentrated the liquid into an exceptionally dense, high-viscosity structural framework. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the technical profile is defined by a massive concentration of wood sugars and vanillins, delivering intense notes of dark chocolate, salted caramel, and molasses, refined by over twelve years of high-heat seasonal thermal cycles.
