William Larue Weller 2016 is a 135.4 Proof barrel-strength wheated bourbon distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery (DSP-KY-113). This specific vintage was distilled in the winter of 2003 and matured for 12 years and 7 months in new charred American white oak. The spirit entered the barrel at 114 proof and was aged on the 3rd and 6th floor of Warehouse D, K, and L. This medium to high-elevation microclimate facilitated an aggressive evaporation loss.
This extreme "angelās share" concentration resulted in a dense, high-viscosity structural framework. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the technical profile is defined by its massive, oily texture and a deep concentration of wood sugars, delivering potent notes of toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, and spicy cinnamon that persist through an exceptionally long, warming finish.
