William Larue Weller 2011 is a 133.5 Proof barrel-strength wheated bourbon distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery (DSP-KY-113). Distilled in the fall of 1998, this spirit underwent 12 years and 11 months of maturation in new charred American white oak. This vintage is technically distinguished by its primary maturation on the 4th and 5th floors of Warehouses N, O, and P, where the elevated microclimate facilitated a high 57.2% evaporation loss. This aggressive concentration of esters and wood sugars resulted in a dense, high-viscosity structural framework.
Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the profile is defined by a massive concentration of wood sugars, delivering potent notes of marzipan, dark honey, and figs, underpinned by the hallmark velvety texture of the distillery’s signature wheated mash bill.
