Stagg Jr Batch 3 is a 132.1 Proof (66.05% ABV) small batch bourbon produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Released in the fall of 2014, this spirit was matured for approximately eight to nine years within the historic brick warehouses of Frankfort, Kentucky. Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley utilized Buffalo Trace’s Mash Bill #1, a low-rye recipe of corn, rye, and malted barley, matured exclusively in new charred American oak.
The technical profile is defined by its uncut and non-chill filtered strength, which retains the heavy oils and deep wood sugars necessary for its characteristically high viscosity. The structural framework is exceptionally powerful and rich, featuring a nose of caramel and rich vanilla, with a palate dominated by bold notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, and a lingering, spicy finish of cinnamon and charred oak.
