The company behind it was founded in 2021 by Pablo Moix, a Los Angeles restaurateur, bar owner, and recognized authority on vintage spirits, together with Peter Nevenglosky, co-founder of Drifter Spirits. Rare Character was born from the hospitality industry's collapse in 2020, when both partners redirected their careers toward what they understood best: finding extraordinary whiskey.
