'Blahzay' names this single cask of Rare Character Brook Hill Private Barrel 10 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey — ten years in oak, bottled uncut at barrel proof in a 750ml presentation by Rare Character Whiskey Co. of Lexington, Kentucky. It is a one-of-one release: one private account chose the barrel, christened it, and saw its proof and yield fixed forever on the label. No other bottling shares this designation, and none ever will.

Brook Hill is an old name deliberately brought back. The original brand was established around the turn of the twentieth century by Joseph L. Friedman and John W. Keiler, whiskey men whose label predated Prohibition and eventually vanished with the era that made it. Rare Character's packaging consciously evokes that Prohibition-era design, treating the trade dress as an artifact worth restoring alongside the name itself. For generations afterward the name lay dormant, a piece of Kentucky whiskey history waiting for a steward, until Rare Character judged it worth reviving.

The revival became official on March 14, 2024, when Rare Character announced Brook Hill as its vehicle for the best of the best barrels — straight bourbon only, always at cask strength, always highly limited, always from sources the company keeps to itself. The initial offering set the tone: a ten-year bourbon hand-selected by co-founder Pablo Moix. 'Blahzay' extends that standard into the private-barrel tier, where individual groups pick their own casks from the same rarefied stock.

A resurrected pre-Prohibition mark carrying decade-old Kentucky bourbon speaks directly to historically minded collectors, and the one-of-one format sharpens the appeal. This barrel's designation appears on exactly one run of bottles. When they are gone, 'Blahzay' becomes a closed chapter in the Brook Hill story — precisely the kind collectors chase. Ten years of age, cask strength, and a designation confined to one barrel's worth of glass make this a bottling built as much for the cabinet as for pouring.
