The 2021 Michter's 20 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 114.2 proof (57.1% ABV) and is distilled and bottled in Kentucky by Michter's. Matured for at least two decades in new, fire-charred American white oak, the 2021 edition was approved by Master Distiller Dan McKee for a November 2021 release — the first Michter's 20 Year Bourbon since 2019 — and was limited to just 500-700 bottles globally.
Michter's pays extra-special attention to its barrels once they pass 17 years, a window the distillery calls the "Fork in the Road Point" — 17 to 20 years, when a select few barrels reach an extraordinary level of quality while most decline. McKee personally selects these rare barrels for the 20 Year, the pinnacle of Michter's age-stated lineup. Michter's 20 Year continues the legacy of a company that traces its roots to 1753 and the original Shenk's distillery.
