The 2020 Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 94.4 proof (47.2% ABV) by Michter's in Louisville, Kentucky. A single-barrel, limited-quantity release matured for at least a decade in new charred American white oak, the 2020 edition was released in May 2020, with each barrel tasted and approved by Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson.
Michter's treats its 10 Year Bourbon as a "when it's ready" release rather than a scheduled one, bottling only the barrels its team judges fully matured. McKee — elevated to Master Distiller in 2019 after more than a decade working alongside his mentor Pamela Heilmann, first at Jim Beam and then at Michter's — and Wilson select each barrel individually before it is proofed to the brand's traditional 94.4 and chill-filtered. Because it is a true single barrel, every cask must clear Michter's rigorous quality standards on its own. Wilson described the 2020 release as "rich and delicious... a great sipping whiskey."
