George T. Stagg 2015 is a high-octane, barrel-strength expression from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, distilled at DSP-KY-113 using the distillery's signature low-rye Mashbill #1. Distilled in the spring of 2000, the spirit underwent 15 years and 1 month of maturation in new charred American white oak. This vintage reached a formidable 138.2 proof, a technical result of a heavy evaporation loss that concentrated the liquid’s wood sugars and essential oils.
With an estimated 5,320 bottles released, the technical profile is defined by its massive viscosity and a dense structural framework. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the spirit offers a raw representation of the barrel, showcasing concentrated notes of dark chocolate, rich molasses, and heavy oak tannins developed through long-term storage in the Kentucky climate.
