George T. Stagg 2014 is a robust, high-proof expression from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, distilled at DSP-KY-113 using the distillery's signature low-rye Mashbill #1. Distilled in the spring of 1998, the spirit underwent 16 years and 4 months of maturation in new charred American white oak. This vintage returned to a higher proof of 138.1, resulting from an aggressive evaporation loss.
With an estimated 10,848 bottles released, the technical profile is defined by an extreme concentration of wood sugars and oils. Because it was bottled uncut and unfiltered, the liquid maintains a dense, oily structural framework characterized by deep notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and spicy tobacco, showcasing the raw intensity of long-term barrel maturation in the Kentucky climate.
