George T. Stagg 2008 is a high-octane expression from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, distilled at DSP-KY-113 using the distillery's low-rye Mashbill #1. This vintage reached a powerful 141.8 proof, maintaining the series' reputation for high proof levels of alcohol concentration. Distilled in the spring of 1993, the spirit matured for 15 years and 6 months in new charred American white oak.
This release is technically significant for its intense evaporation rate, resulting in an estimated 11,085 bottles released to the market. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the structural integrity of the liquid is defined by its extreme viscosity and a dense profile of dark molasses, toasted pecans, and heavy oak tannins that persist through an exceptionally long, warming finish.
