George T. Stagg 2006 is a high-viscosity bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, distilled at Buffalo Trace using their low-rye Mashbill #1. This release reached a robust 140.6 proof, placing it among the highest alcohol content expressions in the series. The spirit was distilled in the spring of 1990 and matured for 16 years and 3 months in new charred American white oak.
This vintage represents a high level of barrel concentration, with an estimated 10,101 bottles released following a significant evaporation loss. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the profile is defined by a dense concentration of cocoa, dark berries, and heavy oak tannins, maintaining an oily texture and explosive finish.
