The Four Roses 2014 Limited Edition Single Barrel 108–120 Proof (54-60% ABV) is a non-chill filtered, barrel strength Kentucky straight bourbon produced at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY. This release was hand-selected by Master Distiller Jim Rutledge and features the OESF recipe: the low-rye "E" mash bill (75% corn, 20% rye, 5% malted barley) paired with the "F" yeast strain, which is technically engineered to produce herbal notes and earthy aromatics. Matured for 11 years in specialized single-story rackhouses, this technical release highlights the "F" strain’s rare ability to maintain minty esters and cooling menthol complexity.
The resulting chemical profile is defined by vibrant notes of wintergreen, clove, and dried herbs, which cut through the traditional bourbon sweetness. The non-chill filtered presentation ensures a lush, oily mouthfeel that carries deep layers of tobacco leaf and toasted oak through a clean, refreshing finish.
