Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Four Wood is a 94.4 Proof (47.2% ABV) innovative, highly complex finishing expression produced by Woodford Reserve Distillery. Released in late 2012 as the seventh installment in the series, this expression begins with standard Woodford column and copper pot-distilled bourbon crafted from a 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill. The liquid initially matured for several years inside charred new American white oak barrels housed in historic stone masonry warehouses.
It was then finished across three distinct, consecutive secondary wood types: Ruby Port casks, Tawny Port casks, and Sherry casks. This intricate multi-wood climate interaction yields a dense structural profile featuring heavy notes of dark plum, warm baking spice, dried fig, and rich, fruit-forward oak tannins.
