Cascahuin Siete Veces Diez is a Reposado Tequila from Tequila Cascahuin in El Arenal, Jalisco, Mexico. This 2023 release is a marriage of three separate Blanco lots aged 190 days in American oak casks and bottled at 90 proof, additive-free.
The bottling was created to commemorate Salvador Rosales Torres - the second-generation Rosales steward of Cascahuin - turning seventy. "Siete Veces Diez" translates literally to "seven times ten," the family's tribute to seven decades of his stewardship of the distillery his father founded in 1904. The release is part of a recurring run of Rosales-family commemorative bottlings out of NOM 1123, all built on Tequila Valley Blue Weber agave with traditional double distillation in copper and stainless pot stills with copper coils.
On the nose, it shows cooked agave layered with vanilla and gentle oak. The palate brings roasted agave sweetness, soft caramel, and warm baking spice from the American oak rest, and the finish carries a clean, lightly oaked close.
The 190-day rest in well-used American oak adds depth without sacrificing the bright agave character that defines Cascahuin's Blanco base. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
