Blood Oath Pact No. 2 is a 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV) bourbon blend featuring a 7-year-old component finished in Port wine casks. Curated by Master Distiller John Rempe, this 2016 release is a technical union of three Kentucky bourbons: a 7-year high-rye bourbon, an 11-year wheated bourbon, and an 11-year high-rye bourbon.
The secondary maturation of the 7-year-old stocks in Port pipes introduces elegant layers of dark stone fruit, cocoa, and plum over the robust toasted oak and spice of the aged base. Bottled as a 750ml small-batch allocation, this expression represents an early showcase of the series' signature approach to blending extra-aged stocks with unique wine-cask finishes.
