Part of the distillery's acclaimed Collaborative Series, in which the blending team partners with renowned winemakers, brewers and brandy houses to finish whiskey in their used casks. Bardstown's blending team finished this 9 year old bourbon in red wine barrels from California's The Prisoner Wine Company, whose bold red blends impart jammy dark fruit and depth. The collaboration is one of several wine-cask experiments that defined the early years of the Collaborative Series. Each Collaborative release is a limited, single-finish bottling, and no two editions share the same partner cask.
On the nose, blackberry jam, plum, and oak. The palate brings dark fruit, mocha, and baking spice. The finish carries wine sweetness and dry tannin.
