Michter's Celebration Sour Mash 2025 is an ultra-rare technical achievement, marking the fifth release of the distillery's most prestigious expression. Orchestrated by Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson and Master Distiller Dan McKee, this edition is a blend of seven hand-selected barrels: four Kentucky Straight Rye and three Kentucky Straight Bourbon. The ages of the component whiskeys range from over 12 years to well over 30 years old.
This 2025 release is widely considered the final Celebration to feature exclusively pre-Shively stocks, making it a significant historical marker for the brand. Bottled at 115.2 proof, the liquid possesses a dense, viscous mouthfeel with a structural framework of salted toffee, dark chocolate ganache, and black cherry, tapering into complex rye notes of floral tea and baking spices.
