William Larue Weller 2024 is a 125.8 Proof wheated bourbon distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery (DSP-KY-113). This landmark 2024 edition celebrates the 25th anniversary of Sazerac’s acquisition of the Weller brand and utilized the distillery's signature wheated mash bill. The spirit was distilled in the spring of 2012 and matured for 12 years and 6 months on the lower floors of a rickhouse at a barrel entry proof of 114.
Technical data indicates an exceptionally aggressive 61% evaporation loss during maturation, which concentrated the liquid’s wood sugars and esters. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the technical profile is defined by a dense structural framework of toasted marshmallow, caramel corn, and new leather, delivering a "pure nectar" texture that emphasizes the soft, creamy character of aged wheat.
