Stagg Barrel Proof Batch 17 is a 128.7 Proof (64.35% ABV) small batch bourbon produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This Winter 2021 release is significant for being the last batch to have the "Junior" suffix on the label, before rebranding simply as Stagg. It is composed of barrels matured for approximately 8 to 9 years within the distillery’s historic Kentucky rickhouses and follows the low rye Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1 recipe.
Bottled uncut and non-chill filtered, the liquid maintains its natural barrel oils and rich esters. The profile is characterized by a concentrated delivery of dark fruit, toasted sugar, and the signature Stagg cherry that transitions into a long finish of seasoned oak and baking spices.
