Booker's Tagalong Batch 6 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Released as Batch 2021-02 and bottled at 127.9 proof, this uncut, unfiltered Booker's release is part of the named-batch series Master Distiller Fred Noe oversees.
Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from three production dates aged in six different rackhouse locations (mid-to-high floors), aged 6 years, 5 months and 0 days. As the second release of the Booker's Bourbon 2021 Collection, this batch celebrates the way Booker Noe (Fred Noe's father) learned the ropes at the distillery, by tagging along with his grandfather Jim Beam.
Per Fred Noe's notes, on the nose, it shows pronounced caramel and vanilla, balanced with ""sweet brown"" wood sugar from charred white oak. The palate brings bold, and the finish carries surprisingly clean. The pour shows Booker's darkest, deepest amber and henna color.
A 2021 Booker's release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker's run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
