The Collaborative Series teams Bardstown Bourbon Company with notable breweries, wineries and distilleries to create one-off finished whiskeys, and it became one of the brand's defining programs after the distillery opened in 2016. The second collaboration with Napa Valley's Phifer Pavitt finished 10 year old Tennessee bourbon for eighteen months in the winery's Cabernet Sauvignon barrels, extending one of the series' most acclaimed wine-cask partnerships. Bardstown Bourbon Company built its reputation on transparency and blending expertise, and each Collaborative bottling is produced in limited quantity.
On the nose, it shows dark berry, vanilla and oak. The palate brings a layered palate of red fruit, caramel and gentle tannin, and the finish carries a long, wine-edged finish.
As a limited Collaborative Series bottling built around the Phifer Pavitt partnership, this is a tightly allocated release that collectors of the series seek out to complete the run.
