Angel’s Envy 2017 Cask Strength is a highly allocated, 124.5 Proof (62.25% ABV) limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and the sixth annual installment of this premium collector's series. This technical expression features a high-rye mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. The maturation protocol involves primary aging in new charred American white oak followed by a secondary finishing period in 60-gallon Ruby Port wine casks sourced from Portugal. The barrels are aged in Kentucky rickhouses where seasonal temperature shifts drive the high-proof spirit deep into the wine-soaked staves.
Produced at the Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, this 2017 release was limited to a total allocation of 10,000 bottles. The technical presentation features the brand's signature winged glass bottle encased in a handcrafted, commemorative wooden display box. By bottling at cask strength without chill-filtration, the distillery preserves the dense concentration of dark fruit esters and oak tannins developed during the specialized finishing process.
