WhistlePig The Badönkådonk 25 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey is bottled at 91 proof (45.5% ABV) and finished and bottled by WhistlePig at its farm in Shoreham, Vermont. An ultra-rare, ultra-aged North American single malt distilled from 100% malted barley in Nova Scotia, Canada, it was matured for a quarter century in new American oak and then finished in Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
At 25 years old, the Badönkådonk is among the oldest single malts ever released on the continent — a showcase of WhistlePig's finishing artistry applied to an exceptionally mature base whisky. The Cabernet-cask finish layers fruit and tannin onto decades of oak development, producing a remarkably complex pour: cedar, dark chocolate, wild honey, and herbal spice on the palate, with a long finish of espresso, maple, pipe tobacco, and toasted almonds.
The release earned a Gold medal at the 2025 Whiskey Wash Awards and was bottled in extremely limited quantities, making it a true collector's prize. Founded in 2007 on a 500-acre former dairy farm in Shoreham, Vermont, WhistlePig helped lead the modern rye whiskey renaissance under founding master distiller Dave Pickerell, the former Maker's Mark master distiller, and has become one of the most celebrated names in American whiskey. Part of WhistlePig's celebrated super-aged single malt series, the Badönkådonk represents the pinnacle of North American single malt — a rare, decades-in-the-making whiskey reserved for the most serious collectors and a definitive trophy bottle in any premium spirits collection. Distilled in Canada and carried to full maturity, the single malt spent its final stretch under WhistlePig's care in Vermont, where the Cabernet barrels were chosen to complement rather than overwhelm twenty-five years of patient aging. Whiskeys of this age are vanishingly rare in North America, where the harsh climate claims most barrels long before they reach a quarter century, which is exactly what makes a 25-year North American single malt so remarkable and so collectible.
