The longest-aged expression in the distillery's core range, Parliament rests for at least twenty-one years in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Spain, the cask signature on which GlenDronach's sherried reputation was built.

The name has nothing to do with politics. A 'parliament' is the collective term for rooks, and a rookery of these gregarious birds has nested in the trees overlooking the distillery for nearly two centuries, keeping watch over generations of whisky-makers since James Allardice founded GlenDronach in 1826. Introduced in 2011 as the crown of the core lineup, the Parliament 21 salutes those long-standing residents with a whisky of matching patience and permanence, and its age statement made it the oldest permanent expression the distillery had offered at the time.

More than two decades in Spanish sherry oak produce remarkable depth. Oloroso casks lend dry fruit, walnut and polished antique oak, while Pedro Ximénez casks add layers of fig, date and molasses sweetness. The nose offers stewed plum, black cherry and dark honey; the palate unfolds with raisin, bitter chocolate, espresso and mellow tannin; and the finish is exceptionally long, resonant with sherried spice. Bottled at a robust 48% ABV, higher than its younger siblings, Parliament holds its intensity neat or with a few drops of water.
