Sazerac 18 Year Old 2015 Release marks the final bottling of the legendary 1985 distillation lot, famously rumored to have been produced at either the Old Bernheim Distillery or George T. Stagg Distillery. This spirit underwent 18 years of primary maturation in new charred American white oak before reaching peak maturity in 2003, at which point the remaining stock was transferred into stainless steel vats.
This technical vatting process arrested all further wood interaction, effectively "freezing" the spirit to ensure absolute profile consistency for every annual release spanning from 2005 to 2015. Bottled at a steady 90 proof, this 2015 edition represents the conclusion of an era, showcasing the stabilized structural framework of the 1985 distillate characterized by its signature high-viscosity body, herbal tea notes, and deep spice integration that remained unchanged through twelve years of steel stabilization.
