Sazerac 18 Year Old 2007 Release is a prominent installment in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, sourced from the master batch of 1985 distillate. This spirit is widely rumored to have been produced at either the Old Bernheim Distillery or George T. Stagg Distillery and represents the continued technical application of Buffalo Trace's vatting strategy.
After undergoing 18 years of primary maturation in new charred American white oak, the liquid was moved into stainless steel tanks to arrest wood extraction and preserve the delicate balance achieved in the barrels. This 2007 bottling is part of the vatted stock used exclusively for annual releases from 2005 through 2015. Bottled at 90 proof, the technical profile is defined by a powerful, lush, and boldly spicy structural framework with notes of toffee, fig cake, and candied fruit, underpinned by the signature herbal mint and clove of the 1985 heritage stock.
