The 2023 HdV Hyde de Villaine Rosé of Pinot Noir is a highly limited release (only 140 cases produced) from the Los Carneros region of Napa Valley. It is a dry, vibrant wine made using the saignée method, where approximately 20% of the juice is bled from Pinot Noir tanks to ensure freshness and concentration.
Winemakers and reviewers describe this vintage as exceptionally bright and balanced due to one of Napa's longest and coolest growing seasons in a decade.
- Aromas: Notes of strawberry, peach blossom, and tart cherry are prominent, with hints of mixed dried herbs.
- Palate: According to the Napa Wine Project, the wine features a "mineral-driven palate" with flavors of cranberry and red raspberry. It has a light, fleshy texture balanced by high acidity.
- Winemaking: It is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for six months to preserve its crisp, floral characteristics. This is the only wine in the HdV portfolio that is filtered.
