The 2015 Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 94.4 proof (47.2% ABV) by Michter's in Louisville, Kentucky. A single-barrel, limited-quantity release matured for at least a decade in new charred American white oak, the 2015 edition was overseen by Master Distiller Willie "Dr. No" Pratt.
Pratt earned his nickname for fixing his attention on exactly when a barrel hit its sweet spot and ignoring any release schedule in the meantime. He pushed this bottling back for additional aging, explaining that the bourbon had been "set for release at the beginning of [the] year, but I held [it] back for a bit more aging" — a hallmark of the patient, maturity-first approach that defined his tenure. Each barrel was hand-selected, proofed to the brand's traditional 94.4, and chill-filtered, with every single cask judged on its own against Michter's rigorous standards.
