The 2026 Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 94.4 proof (47.2% ABV) and produced by Michter's Distillery (DSP-KY-20003) in Shively, Louisville, Kentucky. A single-barrel, limited-quantity release matured in new, fire-charred American white oak, this is the first Michter's 10 Year Bourbon to ship since 2025, approved for release by Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson.
True to the program's reputation, the whiskey is often aged well beyond its ten-year age statement. Michter's overages its bourbon and waits past the decade mark, then selects only the few fully matured barrels that age with the elegance the 10 Year demands — a discipline McKee credits for why the distillery releases the expression only when the liquid meets its standard. Each release reflects Michter's six signature production techniques: cooperage oak that is open-air seasoned for a minimum of 18 months and up to 60; barrels that are toasted before charring to deepen caramelized flavor; a costly lower 103 entry proof (51.5% ABV) for richer barrel chemistry and less added water at bottling; and heat-cycled warehousing that pushes the whiskey deeper into the wood across Kentucky's seasonal swings.
The 10 Year Bourbon is one of the two original age-stated expressions Kentucky Michter's ever released, alongside its 10 Year Rye, and it carries the full weight of the brand's modern reputation. It has been named "Best American Whiskey" by Food & Wine, and in October 2025 Michter's became the first brand ever named World's Most Admired Whiskey for three consecutive years by the international academy convened by Drinks International.
