Distillers' Share 04 Campus Blend is a 17-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon built as a map of the James B. Beam Distilling Co.'s aging geography. Bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV) in the series' 375ml format, it marries ultra-aged stocks from all three of the company's Kentucky campuses into a single glass.

The blend's arithmetic is printed plainly: 60% of the whiskey matured at the Boston campus, 30% at Frankfort, and 10% at Clermont. Each site ages bourbon differently — Boston's exposed rickhouses drive wood hard, Frankfort's humid river valley slows extraction, and Clermont's wooded hills sit between the two — so the blend lets each climate contribute what it does best rather than favoring one voice.

Seventeen years produce a deep amber pour with real gravity. The nose leads with vanilla, seasoned oak, and dark caramel; the palate layers toasted nuts, dried fruit, and warming baking spice over a firm oak spine; the finish is long and composed, spice and char receding slowly at blending strength.

The Distillers' Share program is a limited small-format series through which the Beam team releases experimental and archival lots too scarce for wide distribution — and few entries reach further back into the rickhouses than this one.
