The Noble Share is a rare meeting of two craft dynasties: High West Distillery of Park City, Utah, and Casa Noble, the certified-organic tequila estate of Jalisco, Mexico. Released in limited quantities during the holiday season, this collaboration pours the character of blue agave country into mountain-made American whiskey, a cross-border experiment few producers could attempt with this level of polish.
The whiskey is a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged four to ten years. That blend spends roughly six months finishing in barrels that previously held Marques de Casa Noble, the estate's prestige extra anejo tequila, with a small portion also resting in Brazilian amburana wood. It is bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV).
The result is genuinely unlike anything else in the High West stable. The nose offers ripe mango, ruby grapefruit, spiced apple cider, and piloncillo sugar, with a savory thread of mesquite. On the palate, baked pear and charred peach meet cooked agave, ginger molasses cookie, orange blossom, and cinnamon bark, closing through pink peppercorn, leather, and dark agave honey.
Pour it neat in a tulip glass and give it ten minutes; the agave and whiskey layers separate and recombine beautifully as it opens. It is a natural conversation piece for collectors of both categories, and an inspired gift for anyone who argues the best spirits refuse to stay in one lane.
