The 2024 Michter's 10 Year Old Bourbon & Rye Kentucky Straight Whiskey Bundle unites both of the year's decade-aged single barrel releases from Michter's Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. The 10 Year Bourbon led off the 2024 season in April at 94.4 proof (47.2% ABV), and the 10 Year Rye followed in late spring at 92.8 proof (46.4% ABV), announced as the most limited whiskey Michter's bottles in a given year.
Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson approved the 2024 barrels only after extended heat-cycled warehousing, a signature Michter's practice that pushes spirit deep into the charred oak staves. Because every bottle is drawn from an individual cask, each carries its own barrel number, and no two barrels in the 2024 run drink exactly alike.
The 2024 bourbon pours deep amber and opens with toasted vanilla bean, dark caramel corn and polished oak, building into baking spice, ripe cherry and a long char-kissed finish. Its rye companion answers with candied orange peel, clove-studded stone fruit and cracked black pepper over a bed of soft brown sugar, closing dry and spicy in classic Kentucky straight rye fashion.
