Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey is a 108 proof (54% ABV) single malt distilled from 100% malted barley and aged four years — the first permanent Yellowstone expression to step outside bourbon, created by Limestone Branch Distillery Master Distiller Stephen Beam.
Launched nationwide in March 2023 as a full-time member of the Yellowstone family, the whiskey was distilled and aged in Indiana and released by Limestone Branch Distillery of Lebanon, Kentucky. Beam, a seventh-generation distiller descended from both the Beam and Dant families, brought the 151-year-old bourbon brand into the fast-growing American single malt category with a whiskey bottled at an assertive 108 proof — well above typical single malt strength — to preserve texture and intensity in the glass.
The distillery describes a nose of cereal malt and honey with a hint of peach blossom; a sweet, medium-bodied palate of honey, pear, stone fruit, and dates; and a finish of oak with hints of cinnamon and English walnuts. The bottling has stacked up medals quickly: per the distillery, Platinum at the 2025 ASCOT Awards, Double Gold at the 2024 SIP Awards, Gold at the 2024 ASCOT Awards, Gold at the 2023 SIP Awards, and Gold at the 2023 Bartender Spirits Competition. Since 2024, the distillery has extended its retailer barrel program to the single malt as well, offering hand-picked single barrels at a choice of 106, 110, or 116 proof — a signal of how central the expression has become to the portfolio.
The presentation ties the newcomer to the brand's heritage: a blue top-wrap and the label's iconic Lower Falls artwork, a nod to the Yellowstone National Park namesake the brand has carried since 1872. Through its partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association, Yellowstone has donated more than $1 million to protect America's national parks. For malt drinkers and bourbon fans alike, Yellowstone American Single Malt is a milestone bottle — a historic Kentucky bourbon name planting its flag in American whiskey's newest official category.
