The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) is the third annual release in The Macallan's Harmony Collection, launched in 2023 at 88.4 proof (44.2% ABV). This limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky from The Macallan Distillery in Speyside is presented here in the 700ml international format of the domestic edition, and shifts the series from tasting-room pairings to something more personal: the sensory memory of a Scottish meadow in high summer. The whisky is named for the amber tones of late-season grasses, and its brief was as much emotional as technical, bottling the feeling of a remembered afternoon.
Whisky maker Steven Bremner created the edition in collaboration with Stella McCartney and Mary McCartney, the designer and photographer drawing on childhood memories of the Scottish countryside, from summers spent on the family farm, to guide the whisky's mood. Mary McCartney photographed The Macallan Estate for the packaging, grounding the release in the landscape around Easter Elchies House, where wildflower meadows have been part of the estate's fabric for centuries. Both sisters bring deep ties to sustainable design and image-making, which made them natural partners for the series.
Amber Meadow was matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned oak casks complemented by bourbon casks, yielding a warm, golden-toned single malt that evokes late-season grasses, honeyed sweetness and soft oak, an amber counterpart to the fresher travel-retail Green Meadow. At 44.2% ABV it is the fuller-strength statement of the 2023 pairing, with the structure to reward slow, contemplative tasting. The bourbon casks brighten the sherried base, lifting the whisky toward honeyed, sunlit territory.
True to the Harmony Collection's mission, cuttings of meadow grasses were repurposed into the presentation box and label materials, letting the packaging literally carry the landscape that inspired the liquid. As the domestic pillar of the McCartney collaboration and the series' third chapter, Amber Meadow is a distinctive waypoint in the collection, and an increasingly sought-after piece for those building the complete Harmony run. It also marked the series' first celebrity-family collaboration, broadening Harmony's audience well beyond whisky circles.
