Rozelieures Rare Collection Single Malt French Whisky 700ml

Everything in this bottle begins on the family farm. The Grallet-Dupic family cultivates roughly 300 hectares of barley in the fields surrounding the village of Rozelieures in Lorraine, making theirs one of the few single malts anywhere produced from grain to glass on a single estate. Five generations of farming discipline stand behind every harvest that reaches the stills.

The family's distilling roots run through Maison de la Mirabelle, their celebrated plum eau-de-vie house, and that fruit distiller's sensibility carries into the whisky: patient fermentation, careful cuts and an instinct for aroma over brute force.

The Rare Collection is gently peated at a whisper-light level, then matured in an unusual combination of sherry, cognac and Sauternes casks. The Sauternes wood in particular is genuinely scarce, which keeps production of this expression deliberately small. Bottled at 40% ABV, it drinks with honeyed ease and quiet complexity.

The glass offers gingerbread, dried apricot, sultana and soft caramel, brushed with the faintest trace of smoke and closing on white grape and warm spice. An ideal introduction to French single malt, it rewards unhurried sipping and pairs naturally with fruit tarts, roasted nuts and aged Comte.
