At the fifteen-year mark comes the decisive move: around thirty percent of the whisky is transferred into Spanish oloroso sherry casks for the final three years, while the remainder continues in bourbon wood. When the two streams are reunited at eighteen years, the sherried portion threads dried fruit and nutty depth through the honeyed base without ever smothering it.

Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof), the result is a study in equilibrium rather than power. The extra strength over standard bottlings gives it a creamy, mouth-filling texture, and the long maturation delivers a polish that has kept this expression among the most decorated eighteen-year-old malts in Scotland.
