The 2024 Yellowstone Limited Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a 101 proof (50.5% ABV) blend of 7-year and extra-aged 17-year bourbons given the series' first-ever double cask finish — a secondary rest in both French brandy and Cognac casks — and limited to 30,000 bottles.
Master Distiller Stephen Beam framed the 2024 edition as the payoff of a decade of experimentation. “The 2024 expression of Yellowstone Limited Edition represents my natural progression of experimenting with special finishes over the years,” he said. “I love experimenting and exploring new opportunities, and using a double finish with brandy and cognac casks created a more complex and nuanced bourbon, opening a whole new experience for consumers to enjoy.” Where previous vintages leaned on a single finishing cask, 2024 layers two French grape-spirit casks over a blend anchored by 17-year Kentucky bourbon.
The distillery describes a rich amber pour with a nose of pear, panela sugar, ripe apple, and leather; a thick, soft palate of American basswood honey, ripe stone fruits, citrus, caramel, and vanilla; and a finish of honey, Bosc pear, butterscotch, and leather. Released in September 2024 — 10,000 three-bottle cases in the custom embossed bottle with the 2024 emblem and natural cork — it went on to earn, per the distillery, Gold medals at both the 2025 ASCOT Awards and the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
For collectors of the Limited Edition series, the 2024 release is a turning point: the first double finish, a headline 17-year component older than any stock the series had bottled before, and the vintage that closed out the series' first decade before the 10th anniversary blend that followed. It carries the pedigree of a brand founded in 1872, named for America's first national park, and returned to the founding families' hands by Beam in 2015 — in a series that has never once repeated a finish.
