Woodford Reserve 2018 Batch Proof is a 125.8 Proof (62.9% ABV) cask-strength bourbon produced at the Woodford Reserve Distillery. As the inaugural release of the Batch Proof series within the Masterās Collection, this expression was crafted to showcase the distilleryās proprietary batching process in its purest form. It utilizes the standard Woodford mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills and matured in new charred American oak.
The maturation occurred in heat-cycled warehouses, where barrels from the upper floors contributed to the elevated proof and intensified concentration of wood sugars. The technical profile is defined by its uncut nature, featuring a nose of smoked cedar, dark chocolate, and orange zest, with a palate of toasted nuts and baking spices that transitions into a long, leather-driven finish.
