Tequila Ocho Widow Jane Barrel Select Reposado is a 91 Proof (45.5% ABV) high-intensity, small-batch reposado produced at the Tequilera Los Alambiques distillery (NOM 1474). This explosive, single-estate collaboration features 100% blue Weber agave harvested from the Rancho El Nacimiento estate in the Jalisco Highlands. Maturation occurred for exactly eight weeks and eight days in used bourbon barrels from the Brooklyn-based Widow Jane Distillery, which were transported to Arandas to allow for a unique inter-distillery wood exchange.
The elevated 91 proof—higher than the standard 80 proof—preserves the vibrant agave character while supporting the rich caramel influence of the whiskey wood. Technical specs highlight a concentrated profile of fermented pineapple and nutty caramel, balanced by a silky mouthfeel and a lingering finish of cinnamon, butterscotch, and light black pepper. This October 2022 release represents the inaugural collaboration in the Barrel Select series with Widow Jane.
