Tequila Ocho Widow Jane Barrel Select Reposado is a Reposado Tequila from Tequilera Los Alambiques in Arandas, Jalisco Highlands, Mexico. This limited 2022 release rested eight weeks and eight days in used bourbon barrels from Brooklyn's Widow Jane Distillery, bottled at 90 proof, additive-free, with single-estate, single-field agave from rancho El Nacimiento.

The collaboration paired Tequila Ocho with Widow Jane Distillery for the first time, swapping casks across the categories - Widow Jane's used 10-year bourbon barrels rested Ocho's Reposado, and Ocho later returned the favor with Widow Jane releasing bourbon finished in ex-Ocho casks. Production follows Tequila Ocho's traditional methods at NOM 1474: 100 percent fully-mature Blue Weber agave from a single named Camarena rancho, brick-oven slow cooking, roller mill extraction, open-air fermentation, and double distillation in small copper pot stills. The release was capped at 1,000 cases worldwide.

On the nose, it shows cooked agave layered with caramel, baking spice, chocolate, and citrus. The palate brings sweet agave, vanilla, light oak, and gentle bourbon-cask sweetness, and the finish carries a clean, balanced close.

The Widow Jane bourbon-cask rest adds a layer of caramel and baking spice the standard ex-American whiskey Reposado doesn't carry. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
