Tequila Ocho Continental Barrel Select Anejo is an Anejo Tequila from Tequilera Los Alambiques in Arandas, Jalisco Highlands, Mexico. This 2020 release rested twelve months exclusively in Maison Ferrand Ambre Cognac casks, bottled at 86.2 proof, additive-free.

Continental was one of three releases in Tequila Ocho's 2020 Barrel Select Collection - a collaboration between Carlos Camarena, Tomas Estes, and Maison Ferrand master blender Alexandre Gabriel - and the Cognac-only build of the trio. By isolating the French oak Cognac influence rather than blending it across multiple wood traditions, Continental shows what one of the Old World's most refined wine spirits adds to the Highland agave base. Production follows Tequila Ocho's traditional methods at NOM 1474: 100 percent fully-mature Blue Weber agave from a single Los Altos field, brick-oven slow cooking, roller mill extraction, open-air fermentation, and double distillation in small copper pot stills.

On the nose, it shows cooked agave layered with dried apricot, oak spice, and brandy-like floral notes. The palate brings sweet agave, honey, vanilla, dried fruit, and gentle Cognac warmth, and the finish carries a long, integrated close.

The exclusive Cognac-cask build gives Continental the most elegant, vinous profile of the 2020 Barrel Select trio. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
