Stagg Jr. Batch 12 is a 132.3 Proof (66.15% ABV) small batch bourbon produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This Summer 2019 release is widely regarded as one of the most balanced expressions in the series, sourced from barrels matured for approximately 8 to 9 years in the distillery’s historic Kentucky rickhouses. It utilizes the low rye Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1 recipe which emphasizes a dense grain sweetness and concentrated fruit character.
Matured in heavy char American white oak, this expression is bottled uncut and non-chill filtered to preserve the original barrel oils and esters. The profile is characterized by bold layers of dark chocolate, spicy clove, and the trademark Stagg cherry that transition into a long finish of toasted oak and rich molasses.
