Old Forester 117 Series Extra Old (Batch 002) is a 93 Proof (46.5% ABV) straight bourbon produced at the Brown-Forman Shively Distillery (DSP-KY-354). This 2025 release utilizes the classic 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill. While the standard 1910 expression typically spends 6–9 months in a second, heavily charred barrel, this Extra Old variant underwent 18 months of secondary maturation.
This extended period in a heat-cycled environment results in a deeply concentrated profile of chocolate-covered cherries, roasted coffee, and intense barrel smoke, bottled without losing its characteristic velvety mouthfeel.
