2024 Old Fitzgerald VVS is a 100 proof (50% ABV) wheated bourbon produced by Heaven Hill Distillery. This "Very Very Special" (VVS) 13-year-old release commemorates the 25th Anniversary of Heaven Hill’s acquisition of the Bernheim Distillery. Distilled in the Fall 1999 season at the Bernheim Distillery (DSP-KY-1), this bourbon was matured in federally bonded warehouses before being "tanked" in steel in 2013 to preserve its peak profile for this specific 2024 bottling. Adhering to the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, the 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley mash bill has undergone a full 13-year maturation in new charred American oak.
The technical profile is defined by notes of seasoned leather, dark chocolate-dipped cherries, and toasted coconut with a concentrated, oily mouthfeel. This 750ml anniversary iteration is distinguished by its unique maroon label and signature tax strip, exclusive to the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience.
