George T. Stagg 2022 138.7 Proof represents a significant return for the brand after its absence from the 2021 collection. Distilled in the spring of 2007 using the low-rye Mashbill #1, this spirit underwent 15 years and 5 months of maturation in new charred American white oak. This vintage reached a formidable "hazmat-adjacent" proof, a technical result of a massive evaporation loss within the barrels, which concentrated the liquid into an exceptionally dense and oily structural framework.
The profile is defined by an extreme saturation of wood sugars and vanillins. Bottled uncut and unfiltered, the technical profile delivers deep, concentrated notes of charred oak, dark chocolate, and molasses, refined by fifteen years of high-heat warehouse cycling.
