Expresiones del Corazón Sazerac Rye 18 is an 80 proof (40% ABV) limited-release produced at NOM 1103 (Casa San Matías) in Jalisco, Mexico. This 100% Blue Weber single-estate agave spirit is harvested from the Los Altos highlands, slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens for 48 hours, and double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills.
Technical maturation for this expression involves aging for exactly 24 months in barrels that previously held Sazerac 18-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey. This specific wood interaction with extra-aged rye casks imparts a technical profile defined by aromas of fresh fruit, oak, and caramel, with a moderately sweet palate of almond, cinnamon, and butterscotch followed by a sharp, bold finish of spicy rye and pineapple.
