Bardstown Bourbon Company Chateau de Laubade is a Bourbon from an undisclosed Indiana distillery, blended and bottled at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Bardstown, Kentucky. Part of the distillery's acclaimed Collaborative Series, in which the blending team partners with renowned winemakers, brewers and brandy houses to finish whiskey in their used casks. Bottled at 118.4 proof.
This release finishes a 12-year bourbon for 18 months in Armagnac casks from Gascony's Chateau de Laubade, one of the most celebrated houses in the Collaborative Series. The brandy casks bring stone fruit and a layered, aged complexity that the Bardstown blending team built the entire release around. Each Collaborative release is a limited, single-finish bottling, and no two editions share the same partner cask.
On the nose, dried apricot, fig, and oak spice. The palate brings stone fruit, toffee, and brandy depth. The finish carries warm spice and lingering dried fruit.
This is a hard-to-find, allocation-driven bottling that collectors track closely. It is a coveted addition to the Bardstown Collaborative Series and a prize for collectors of the label. Bottled at 118.4 proof, it shows the bold, full-strength character collectors prize. Once the allocation sells through, the secondary market is usually the only route to a bottle.
